I’ve been meaning to post about the work of Charmaine Olivia – self-described painter, tea addict & jewelry fiend from San Francisco – for quite some time. For this Photo-Friday, we have a tasty bit of hand lettering all the way from Costa Maya, Mexico. There is something special about hand lettering when you come across it in the wild, even when they are painted in a far-flung taquería by someone who had downed a few piña coladas first.

Not a lot of background information or explanation at the Read The Printed Word site, but I like their support for “the printed word in all its forms.”
I can not, nor would I necessarily want to, get away from digital content, but when it comes to reading I am a hopeless bibliophile who really enjoys the tactile experience of interacting with ink on paper. If you feel like throwing in your support, they have a whole set of pretty cool custom buttons (and supporting code) you can add to your site.

Well, thanks to the wonders of our tiny Etsy Shop outpost, Two Birds Press has gone global. Much like the opening stages of a game of Risk, we have begun by occupying strategically significant areas of Europe… starting with Portugal and the island nation of Malta. Many thanks to our admirers across the pond who recently purchased the new 2BP Signature Sketchbooks.
So, do we sweep into Russia or go for a foothold in Africa? I guess it is up to you all… check out the Etsy Shop and help determine the fate of the world (at least as far as well-designed paper goods go).
